Is it really Friday again?
I seriously can't believe it.
Time is going by way to quickly, no?
I don't know about you, but that mid-week holiday they called the Fourth of July really threw me off this week.
Yesterday I was thinking it was Monday, Tuesday I was thinking it was Friday?
So weird.
Anyway, if we were at coffee right now, I'd tell you that I am SO ready to be settled into this house.
We have a ton of little projects left and they don't seem to end.
I feel like once the projects are finished and we are "settled" we will be able to relax in the evenings and not feel pressured to "do stuff". Does that make sense?
I am so thankful for this little home I can't even stand it! And because of that, I want it to be *perfect*.
Obviously, it won't be perfect, (ie. we found a VINE growing into our home through the floorboard... yes, like Jumanji-style) but perfectly imperfect, I suppose.
I want it to be a place that David and I can be proud of.
That when we invite others into our home, we are happy to show it off!
One day we will get there, until then, we will just make do :)

a good ole American meal for the 4th. ;)
If we were at coffee, I'd probably talk to you about blogging. Cuz, you know, it would be a blogging date ;)
I would ask you your thoughts on all these bloggers writing posts on "blogging rules" + "blogging do's and dont's" + etc., etc.
What ARE your thoughts?
Mine are this ::
WHY?
Why do you care if I center the text in all of my posts?
Why do you tell me I *MUST* have photos in all of my posts?
Maybe these things worked for YOU, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will work for me... or some one else!
I don't normally rant about things like this, but its just been bugging me & I had to get it off of my chest.
mkay?
I guess if I did these things, I'd have more readers????? haha, just kidding!
I love you guys-- thanks for reading and loving on me via comments//emails//etc.
Even though I am really bad at replying to all my comments, reading & commenting on other's blogs, etc., etc. I really love and appreciate each of you.

LOVE your orange (yellow?) striped dress! So cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd centered text: My only response is this: people have been reading left to right for basically forever. So it makes sense to not center or right-align text - just because that's how we read every other thing we read. But that's me. :) And no, you don't have to have pictures in every post. Some people do stick around for the content. :)
I think that blogger do's and don't's depend on what they are.
ReplyDeleteI don't think people should go to a blog, not bother to read the post, and then leave a comment saying, "Follow me, k???"
But centered text? Whatevs. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's not hurting anyone!
A blogger "do" that I feel like you've nailed is being able to feature people and their blogs without us feeling like you are advertising to us. I have stopped reading a few blogs because it stopped being fun and started to feel like I was watching an infomercial.
ReplyDeleteBut if you're like me, you watch the stupid infomercials for a good hour, mesmerized, before dragging yourself away to do something productive.
:) thanks for not shoving other bloggers crap down our throats.
I'm so excited that I found you on InstaFriday! Your blog is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeletehi dear!! i'm here from the instafriday link up :]
ReplyDeletelove all your fabulous photos -- i'm pretty sure i already follow you on there.... i think?? i know it all looks familiar ;)
i do totally agree on not loving the do's & dont's that have been created for blogging.... it's still just fun for me & i remember when it used to just be journaling before giveaways & sponsorships & blahblahblah happened. days of old!
have a great friday!

Stopping by from instafriday! I actually found your blog a few weeks ago {and fell in love with your grey chevron gum drop pillow!}. I'm happy to say that I just finished two {in orange chevron} for my living room last night! Love all your photos, your sewing inspiration and your blog! Keep up the good work...without worrying about any other rules!:)
ReplyDeleteChecking in from instafriday! Your striped dress is darling, and so are your wedding buddies. I'm heading to a wedding today, it's just that time of year! I too thought it was weird that the 4th fell in the middle of the week. Talk about confusing. Your photos are great, have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI seriously love you!! and I miss your face!!! I'm with you on the bloggity blog rules. Seriously I think how you justify your text and pictures or no pictures help you find your voice on your blog and that's why people come back and read your blog everyday. Because they love you and who YOU are. So next week, we vlog, m,kay?
ReplyDeleteLove those shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love that mustard dress! It's so cute! Looks like an awesome week! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute. As always. I need those shoes! I hear ya... rules, schmules! Whatever, right? To each their own. Hope you have a fabulous weekend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi there - stopping by from InstaFriday - Life Re-arranged. What a cute blog you have! I love that mustard colored dress :) Happy to have found you. Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteI guess I don't take the blog rules too seriously; I roll my eyes, move on, and run my blog the way I want. :)
ReplyDeleteLove watermelon during the summer! I definitely hear you on the blog rules thing. I figure your blog, your rules :) visiting from coffee date!
ReplyDeleteI stopped blogging for awhile - awhile back because I felt that there were too many rules. Do this, do that, look this way, use this system, and if you didn't you weren't a legit "blogger" - the rules are silly. Blogging is our own spot to do what we please with. I loved your rant about it. As I RT'd it. I completely, 100% agree with you.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, no matter what you do with it. So keep being you, darling. You rock! :)
Now, I'm craving coffee - it's 11:30pm - I should just go to bed. 0ops!
