The rest of the week I'm going to be sharing the handmade outfits I wore at QuiltCon. Hope you guys don't get sick of seeing my face all over here, but I absolutely loved how all of my outfits turned out, sooo I'm going to share them!
Here's the thing. Wearing handmade is hard sometimes. You don't want it to look handmade, but in a sense, there's no way around it (especially when you're wearing bright fabrics that other people have seen before). Its been a struggle for me since I began sewing clothes for myself. I'm always asking David, "Does this look like I made it?!" I have to say that recently (maybe the past 6 months) is the first time I've really felt confident in my handmade threads.

Here's day THREE! -- Probably my most favorite day!

Pattern: Favorite Things Shift Dress --yes! I promise its this pattern. I just cinched the elastic a little tighter than the pattern called for! (they make it for little girls too!!)
Fabric: Michael Miller Stitch Square
Necklace: Caroline G. // Shoes: Target

THIS is my favorite handmade item I have ever sewn. I love how it looks AND how it fits. Its so comfortable, yet looks so sleek. And, honestly, I think it looks like it came from a cutsie boutique!
What do you think?!
One more day of handmade threads!

Looks great!

So cute! I love it and now want to make one too :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! I bet it's so rewarding when someone asks where it's from and you get to say you made it yourself! It's one of my long-term goals to start sewing my own clothes, but I'm nowhere that experienced yet. I follow the blog of an 18 year old girl who sews a lot of her clothing and creates her own patterns- very inspiring!
