Happy Monday, friends!!
I am so happy to share some pretty exciting news with you guys!
So a couple of weeks ago, I sent out a pretty vague tweet about an exciting email I had received & it probably had you wondering.. what the heck is she screaming about?
Well, today I get to tell you!
Lets back it up about 6 weeks.
About 6 weeks ago, I saw someone tweet about a Sewing TV show on PBS having a casting call. Not having any idea or any clue what it was/what it entailed/what I was doing.. I clicked on the link, answered a few general questions, sifted through my old DIYs, picked one, uploaded
a sorry excuse of a headshot, and submitted my work. I have NEVER done anything like this. Never submitted my work for a contest, that is.
So, 6 weeks passed, I had completely forgot about submitting my Chevron + Ombre tote DIY, when I received an email from Ellen March, the host of Sew It All TV.
The email said I had been selected as one of the top five finalist to be on an episode of her show.
She said I needed to let her know my travel arrangements to the Puyallup Sewing and Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, WA within the week & then she would give me some more information.
SO, YOU GUYS... I am going to Washington on March 2nd to appear at the Coats & Clark charity event and present a 5 minute demo on my Chevron + Ombre tote. There will be four other bloggers demo-ing their tutorials & after the event, the audience will vote on their favorite two. Once they are chosen, the top two will go on an Internet vote and the winner will get to go be on an episode of Sew It All that will air next February.
As you can imagine, I am shocked.
Honored. And SO EXCITED.
If I am chosen by the audience as one of the top two... I'm going to be asking you guys for votes!!!
Thank you so much for supporting this little blog for the past three years. Your encouragement & loyalty has truly helped build my confidence + find my passion. I love each and every one of you and wouldn't be able to have this opportunity if it weren't for YOU!
On that note... I'll be in Seattle for a couple of days and WOULD LOVE your suggestions on things to see, restaurants to eat at, etc. etc.
I've never been to that area of the country and I am SO EXCITED!
